Gift cards can be used to purchase anything in the Zoo with the exception of memberships. Swing by the Guest Services office to pick up your gift cards, or call (405) 425-0262 to purchase over the phone. Guest Services can mail them or save them for the recipients to pick up during their next visit.
For those on your list with the hearts of explorers, nothing beats a behind-the-scenes, up-close experience with animals. The Zoo offers Wild Encounters with grizzly bears, sea lions, Galapagos tortoises and elephants year round. Wild Encounters are $40 or $50 per person depending on the animal area. ZOOfriends’ members receive a $5 discount per person. If you are uncertain of your adventurer’s schedule, Zoo gift cards can be used to purchase Wild Encounters so that recipients can book them at their convenience.
The Zoo also offers Safari Cart Tours, a private voyage tailored to fit the interests of the adventurer. These personalized Zoo tours cost $75 for up to seven people and last two hours. Booking for Safari Cart Tours is also done through the Guest Services office.
Take your gift idea to the next level with the Zoo’s Ultimate VIP Experience. This all-inclusive package includes a personal tour guide; private safari cart with drinks; all rides, attractions and animal feedings; and all four Wild Encounters! Groups of up to seven people welcome. Costs per person range from $400 to $800 depending on the group size. The Zoo offers many gifts that make a world of difference. Animal Adoptions are a wild way to support the animals you care about at the Zoo. Each Animal Adoption costs $45 and includes a personalized certificate, a fact sheet about your adopted animal, name recognition on the ZOOfriends’ website for one year and a plush animal. All proceeds from Animal Adoptions supply the Zoo with important funding for health, enrichment and the nutritional needs of all the animals. For more information, visit zoofriends.org or call the ZOOfriends office at (405) 425-0618.
The Zoo’s Safari Gift Shop also offers several items that positively impact the planet. Give your trendy green-goer a sleek S’well water bottle. S’well proudly supports the UNICEF Tap Project in making safe water accessible to the world’s most vulnerable children. Blu Bags are another chic, eco-friendly accessory for the conservationist. When you purchase these colorful, reusable shopping bags you help support Ocean Conservancy, an organization dedicated to finding innovative, sustainable solutions to the ocean’s greatest threats.
Find jewelry by Bluma Project, a Brooklyn based company that employs artists in developing countries such as Peru, Guatemala, the Philippines and India, providing them with sustainable income. These bright, authentic pieces are globally inspired with a modern twist. Choose creations from the Women of Cloud Forest, a group of women from Costa Rica who sustainably collect seeds from surrounding forests and artfully craft them into stunning pieces of jewelry. BeadWORKS is another available line of eco-friendly jewelry. It is supported by one of the Zoo’s conservation initiatives, the Northern Rangelands Trust. BeadWORKS empowers women by training them in bead craftsmanship, accounting and marketing. This diversifies household incomes and reduces reliance on livestock and natural resources.
The gift shop also offers Bella Tunno products. This line of vibrant baby and toddler products includes clothes, blankets and toys. For every product bought, Bella Tunno donates a meal to a hungry child and has given over 500,000 meals to children in our country.
