ANIMAL ADOPTIONS – Special Pygmy Hippo Deluxe Package Includes 65th Anniversary T-Shirt
Share your love of wildlife with everyone on your list with a gift of an animal adoption. This year, guests can choose between four iconic species from the Zoo’s newly opened Sanctuary Asia habitat: Indian rhino, Asian elephant, red panda or Komodo dragon. Net proceeds from each animal adoption benefit The Oklahoma Zoological Society, which helps spread the love to all the OKC Zoo’s animals by providing important funding for their daily care needs and animal enrichment items. There are now three different levels of animal adoptions:
$40 Classic Edition – Certificate of Adoption and name recognition on www.ZOOfriends.org
$60 Limited Edition – Plush animal, certificate of adoption, fact sheet, animal photo and name recognition
$100 Deluxe Edition – Plush animal, certificate of adoption, fact sheet, animal photo, ZOOfriends cinch bag, and two General Admission tickets to the OKC Zoo, and name recognition on www.ZOOfriends.org
Additionally, a special Pygmy Hippo Limited Edition package ($100) includes a pygmy hippo plush, adoption certificate, online name recognition, pygmy hippo fact sheet, OKC Zoo canvas tote, two OKC Zoo general admission tickets, a postcard autographed by Gayla Peevey and a t-shirt commemorating the 65th Anniversary of Gayla’s iconic “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” hit song (limited quantities, t-shirt exclusively available with package). Proceeds from the Pygmy Hippo Limited Edition package will benefit the Zoological Society of London’s pygmy hippo conservation efforts. The Pygmy Hippo Limited Edition package will be available starting Saturday, December 1.
To adopt your animal, call (405) 425-0618, or stop by the ZOOfriends’ membership office located in the Zoo’s Global Plaza, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ART GONE WILD – Art by Animals, Benefiting Animals
Put your passion for animals on full display with a one-of-a-kind piece of art painted by the OKC Zoo’s wildly talented animal artists. As part of the Zoo’s enrichment program, many animals paint during enrichment sessions with assistance from their caregivers. Elephants spray, snakes slither and flamingoes walk on the canvas! Find the masterpiece that’s right for you by visiting the Zoo’s Guest Services office. Proceeds from all paintings support the Zoo’s conservation efforts. For more information, call (405) 425-0275.
