Family Programs

The Oklahoma City Zoo's family-based education programs offer a wonderful way for the whole family to have fun while exploring and learning together!

Pre-registration required 7 days in advance of program date. Click on program date for self-registration or call 405-425-0218.

Paw-jama Party

Put on your jammies, grab your favorite stuffed animal, and bring the family to the zoo for an animal themed evening. Meet a different animal every month! All ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost per child: $12 (member), $15 (non-member). Cost per additional child: $6 (member), $9 (non-member).

EdZOOcation LIVE! Series

Join our edZOOcators for our monthly programming (Sept-March). Your family will enjoy interactive learning experiences and up close encounters with our animal ambassadors. It's going to be a wild time! Ages 4 and up. Cost/child: $7 (member), $9 (non-member). One paid child required. Includes one free adult, additional adults $1 each.

The Zoo's a Garden Too

April 1, 2017, 10:00am-11:30am

Stop and smell the tulips! Enjoy a guided tour through the zoo's botanical gardens featuring the zoo's largest "Zoo BLooms" and meet a plant loving animal up close. For adults and children (ages 4 and up). Cost: $12 (member), $15 (non-member).

Building a Butterfly Garden

April 8, 2017, 9:00-11:30am

Looking to add some colorful flutter to your yard? Our experts will guide you through the process of designing, planting, and maintaining your butterfly garden. See starter kit included. Some light walking. Ages 16 and up welcome. Cost: $15 (member), $18 (non-member).

Nature's Construction Crew

Termite0nado! Elephant-quake! Natural disasters shape the land...and animals do too! Learn about how animals build and wreck the world around them and why it's so important. Ages 4 and up. Cost per participant: $12 (member), $15 (non-member).

School's Out, Zoo's In Overnight

School may be out for the summer but the zoo is always in session, even at night! Get nocturnal and see why being awake makes animals the coolest critters in school. Enjoy an up-close animal encounter, and a guided night hike. Cost: $30/child, $15/adult.

Dog Days of Summer

June 24, 2017, 10:00-11:30am

Learn how to keep your pets cool this summer with a critter tale, animal enrichment, and a make-n-take activity with LEGO bricks. Ages: 5-12 years. Cost: $15 (member), $18 (non-member).

Cub Club (Toddler Programs)

Bring your little cub as we learn about zoo animals through lessons, crafts, discovery stations, and/or guided zoo tours. Ages 2-5 years. Cost per child/adult pair: $12 (member), $15 (non-member).
