DINO SQUAD-Volunteers

Do you love Dinosaurs?  The OKC Zoo is looking for Dino-enthusiasts to share their passion with Zoo guests. Help guests learn about the different Dinos, Zoo’s modern day Dinos and get hands-on with fossil casts. Not a Dino expert? That’s ok!  We will help give you the tools and training you need.

Help share how the OKC Zoo is helping current animal species from the brink of extinct and everyone can make a difference.  Help us stop extinction!

Commitment 

• Complete Zoo orientation.
• Complete Dino Squad training
• Commit to the 6-months period for DINO SAFARI (April 30^th – October 31^st)
• 2 ½ hour volunteer shifts; 10 hrs. per month

Requirements

• Applicants must complete online application
• To be eligible for the program, children must be 8 to 17 years old by May 1, 2021, and they must volunteer with an adult who is a parent or guardian. Max of 2 children per adult.

• Adults must pass a background check.
• Purchase uniform shirt or shirts. The cost is $15 (short-sleeved) and $20 (long-sleeved) each.
• Able to walk or self-transport to the exhibit and able to sit or stand for the 2 ½ hour volunteer shift.
• Able to tolerate reasonable weather conditions, as the exhibit is outdoors.
• Good verbal communication skills.

• All volunteers must abide by the Zoo’s Personal Appearance Guidelines.
• The OKC Zoo is not designated as a 501(c)(3).
