Wild About Love: OKC Zoo Love Connections

At the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, we love connecting our guests to wildlife and wild places! This Valentine’s Day, we asked our Zoo fans all over social media to share their love stories and special connections to the Zoo. We want to thank everyone who shared the love! Take a look at these wild, wonderful love stories:

From Sara Rowe on Facebook:

“My husband and I were married at the Zoo in September 2018.”

From Donna Belles on Facebook:

“My husband and I had our first date at the Zoo in 1975.”

From Kadie Elyane Doerty on Facebook:

“I always grew up around the zoo and when I began dating my husband we spent many dates there! We are Zoofriends and go as often as we can! Eventually he proposed to me while we were watching the tigers there and we had our wedding there in September 2018 and were one of the first events in the Lotus Pavilion in Sanctuary Asia! We loved it and our guests were in awe and spent more time with the beautiful animals around us than on the dance floor! Happy Valentine's Day to all the animal couples and everyone!”

From Steph Kingsley on Facebook:

“My first date with my husband was at the zoo! The Okapi were mating and we thought it was so funny and now he buys me okapi stuff and we just love them!”

From Audrey Ingram on Facebook:

“My husband and I went on many, many dates to the OKC zoo. It was our favorite thing to do. I bought him a membership to the OKC zoo for his birthday the first summer we were dating (2010) and we renewed it ever year until we moved to Kansas City in 2015 (now we're members of the KC zoo). We took our engagement pictures at the OKC zoo in 2014.”
