School's Out Day Camps

Wondering what to do when your child is out of school?  Bring them to School’s Out Day Camp at the zoo!  Each day has a theme and your camper will meet animals up-close, tour the zoo, make crafts, do activities and games, and so much more!  They are sure to have a zoo-per time!

  • November 2019

    • November 25th: Meerkat Mysteries: Have you ever wondered what goes on in a meerkat colony?  Tunnel on over as we uncover the mysteries of these amazing animals that live secret lives underground

    • November 26th: Somethings Fishy: Calling all ichthyologists! Swim on over as we dive into the world of these animals that are built for the aquatic life.  

    • November 27th: A Tale of Animal Tails: Whether they are used for climbing, signaling danger, or for balance, tails are a great accessory!  High-tail on over to hear tales of these tails and how they are useful to animals.

  • December 2019

    • December 23rd: The Tortoise and the Hare: On your mark, get set, go!  Race on over as we learn about rabbits and turtles and recreate this famous race.

    • December 27th: Wildlife Trackers: Calling all sleuths! Sharpen your investigative skills as we look for clues, follow tracks, and solve animal mysteries.

    • December 30th: Animal Wardrobes: Animals don't wear clothes but they do have a style of their own!  From feathers, scales, and fur animals have coverings that best suit them and their lifestyle.

  • January 2020

    • January 2nd: Toad-ally Awesome Frogs and Toads: There is definitely more than meets the eye, with these real life transformers.  Hop on over and take a peek into the lives of these toad-ally awesome amphibians.

    • January 3rd: Lights Out Nights Out: What goes bump in the night?  Not our Zoo animals!  Find out how animals use their amazing senses to survive at night.

    • January 6th: OK Corral: Howdy Partner!  Giddy on up to explore animals of the wild west and try your hand at a few western games.

    • January 20th: Animal Architects: Calling all busy beavers!  Put your imagination and skills to the test to create animal masterpieces all while learning about real animal architects.

  • March 2020     

    • March 16th: Crucial Climbers: Whether it’s a tail, a hand, a foot, or even their whole body, these climbers have what it takes to swing, dangle, or scale the tallest trees and the steepest cliffs.

    • March 17th: Super Swimmers: DIVE into the world of these super swimmers and see what it takes to move seamlessly through the water.

    • March 18th: Rambunctious Runners: On your mark, get set, GO!  Race on over to learn how these animal athletes are able to take such great strides and what keeps them going.

    • March 19th: Hippety Hoppers: Join us as we jump into the lives of these amazing hoppers and see how we measure up to their great leaps.

    • March 20th: Fabulous Flyers: Whether they are soaring, fluttering, or gliding through the air, these aerodynamic flyers take to the skies like no other.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. Cancellations must be in writing—no phone or email cancellations will be accepted. Mail to: Education Department, OKC Zoo, 2101 NE 50th, OKC, OK 73111.
2. No refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to program start date.
3. Classes are transferable to children in the same age group; however a 20% service charge will apply for any changes in the original registration.
4. The Zoo reserves the right to cancel classes if registration is below required minimum.
5. Programs are held "rain or shine" unless the zoo is closed due to severe weather conditions.
