FRIDAY, FEB. 2: OKC ZOO HOSTS GROUNDHOG DAY EVENT
Punxsutawney Phil can take a seat. At the Oklahoma City Zoo this Groundhog Day, Friday, February 2, gallant grizzly bear brothers Will and Wiley get the dirt on the changing seasons with their annual prediction. Because the Zoo does not have groundhogs in its collection, our bears graciously step in each year as official Groundhog Day ambassadors. Activities are scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. in the Big Rivers building in the Zoo's Oklahoma Trails and are free with admission. FRIDAY, FEB. 9: VALENTINE’S DAY ENRICHMENT EVENT
We love our animal family and take pride in enriching their lives each and every day. Join us on Friday, February 9 for a special Valentine’s Day enrichment event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Select Zoo animals receive special enrichment treats and eats made with love by their caretakers. Watch your favorite animals’ curiosity take over as they discover and interact with their unique valentines. Free with Zoo admission. Look for the day’s enrichment schedule on your zoo map. THURSDAY, FEB. 15–SATURDAY, MAR. 31: OKC ZOO & DR PEPPER HOST ANNUAL VENDING MACHINE ART CONTEST
All Oklahoma’s talented students in K-12 are eligible to win wild prizes and the chance to have their original art designed on a Dr Pepper vending machine at the Zoo. Come on, get creative! Additional information about this year’s contest theme, 2018 is the Year of the Bird: Celebrate our World’s Winged Wonders, guidelines and entry forms will be available at okczoo.org. SATURDAY, FEB. 17 / MONDAY, FEB. 19: OKC ZOO HOSTS GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT
Flock to the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden to help wild birds. The OKC Zoo is proud to host its first Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science project that invites people to count native birds and help create a real-time look at wild populations. Participation is easy to do, fun for families and individuals–all ages welcome. Join us on Saturday, February 17 and Monday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., both days, to assist with counting, identifying the native birds that make their home around the Zoo. Kids will enjoy an on-grounds bird scavenger safari. Visit our information tent in the Global Plaza to learn more about each day’s activities including bird watching tours. The OKC Zoo offers monthly opportunities for Boy and Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls to learn about the natural world while achieving badges and meeting program requirements, electives. To learn more about what’s happening in February click here.
FRIDAY, FEB. 9; FRIDAY, FEB. 16; and MONDAY, FEB. 19: SCHOOL’S OUT DAY CAMPS
These camps offer unique and wild adventures to interest children ages 4–11. Snacks are provided, but campers must bring their lunch. Advanced registration and payment required. All campers are required to bring a copy of their immunizations. Half-day camps run 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Full-day camps run 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Drop-off at the Zoo’s Education Center is from 8:20–8:30 a.m. Cost per child, per day is $25 half-day and $45 full-day.
SATURDAY, FEB. 10: FAMILY EDUCATION PROGRAM, WE HEART ❤ ANIMALS
Come, make Valentine's gifts for the OKC Zoo’s animals and your loved ones from 10–11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, in the Zoo’s Rosser Conservation Education Center. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Possible allergen alert. Cost per child is $12 (member) and $15 (non-member).
FRIDAY, FEB. 23: FAMILY OVERNIGHT PROGRAMS, THE THREE BEARS
Nighttime at the OKC Zoo can be beary interesting. Bring the entire family to experience this fun overnight program on Friday, February 23, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Make a bear craft, use your bear senses during a guided night tour, and enjoy an evening snack that is "just right". Bring bedding that is "just right" for sleeping in the Big Rivers building --- next to the bear exhibit! Morning includes a light breakfast. Ages: 4 and up (parent must accompany child). Cost: $35/child, $20/adult.

The Oklahoma City Zoo, located at the crossroads of I-44 and I-35, is a proud member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the American Alliance of Museums, Oklahoma City’s Adventure District and an Adventure Road partner. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Regular admission is $11 for adults, and $8 for children ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free.
