OKC Zoo News Releases

This holiday season, make a wish come true for your favorite furry and feathered friends at the Oklahoma City Zoo! Animal lovers have the opportunity to share their passion for wildlife and contribute new enrichment toys that will benefit the OKC Zoo’s animal family.

From boomer balls to puzzle feeders, the Zoo’s Animal Toy List features a variety of animal-approved items that have been selected with the intent of engaging natural behaviors, curiosity and play for a particular animal or species. Along with an animal’s health and diet, environmental enrichment is an essential part to ensuring the quality of life and welfare of each animal at the OKC Zoo. Zoo caretakers enrich the lives of the animals in their care on a daily basis by creating programs that provide a stimulating environment which addresses the animal's social, psychological and physical needs.

Go on a shopping safari for a great cause and purchase a new toy (or two) for the animals at the OKC Zoo.  Choose from a diverse selection of enrichment products ranging in shape, size and cost (items starting at $10) for the Zoo’s Asian elephants, Sumatran tigers, Western lowland gorillas, California sea lions, various birds and more. To view the complete list of items available, click here. The Zoo’s Animal Toy List will be online now through January 31, 2019. As the wildlife toys start arriving, the Zoo will share pictures of the animals enjoying them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Give a gift that gives back in a wild way with the Oklahoma City Zoo’s Animal Toy List! Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Regular admission is $11 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free.
