ANNUAL BEER-TASTING EVENT, ZOOBREW, RETURNS TO THE OKC ZOO, OCTOBER 1

Tap into your wild side from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, October 1, during the Oklahoma Zoological Society’s (OZS) 13th annual beer-tasting event, ZOObrew, presented by Byron’s Liquor Warehouse, happening at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden. 

More than 2,500 craft beer fans will enjoy a wide variety of tastings from over 60 of the finest local, and national breweries located in Oklahoma and beyond, as well as other libations, including wine and specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages available to designated drivers.

“The first installments of this event involved only a few samples for a small, local craft beer audience and it continues to grow every year with the local craft beer scene,” said OZS’s Director of Development, Matt Burkholder “ZOObrew has become THE fundraising event for ZOOfriends and with the support of the Oklahoma City Zoo and the expanding craft beer community, it is becoming a signature beer event for the state of Oklahoma.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the park after-hours while savoring 2-ounce samples and enjoying live music, yard games and animal encounters. Plus, sweet and salty treats, available for purchase, will satisfy their appetites.

New this year, will be an exclusive Zoo beer release in support of the Oklahoma City Zoo’s conservation initiatives. VIP PREbrew ticket holders will have exclusive access to the Zoo’s first official beer. This seasonal beer, a grapefruit radler, brewed in partnership with Stonecloud Brewing Co. and Lively Beerworks, will only be available for the VIP portion of ZOObrew from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. before being launched in both the Stonecloud and Lively taprooms and at the Oklahoma City Zoo later this fall.

ZOObrew is a 21-and-up event. General admission tickets are $65/person and $58.50/ ZOOfriends member and include admission, unlimited 2-ounce samples, one commemorative 5-ounce tasting mug and lanyard. Designated Driver tickets are available for $15/person. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $110/person and $99/ZOOfriends member and include what is in the general admission ticket plus, early entry, 5:30 p.m., to the event as well as food vouchers, an event T-shirt, a private sea-lion presentation, and access to the Zoo’s DINO SAFARI. Tickets must be purchased in advance at zoofriends.org/zoobrew. This event is expected to sell out.

Funds raised from this event will benefit the Oklahoma Zoological Society.
