  • FIRST FRIDAY GARDEN TOURS

    NEW! Botanical Garden tours featuring the Zoo’s 10,000-square-feet Water Conservation Garden are scheduled for the first Friday of each month from through October starting at 10 a.m. Garden tours will meet in the Global Plaza near the Guest Services office at 10 a.m. before proceeding on the tour. Additional 2017 First Friday Garden Tours are scheduled for July 7, August 4, September 1 and October 6.

    Tours are free with paid Zoo admission.

    Come make a ruckus for rhinos and celebrate World Rhino Day on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come to the Judy Memorial Garden located across from the pachyderm building and learn how you can help save these animals.   • OKC ZOO’S MONARCH MADNESS 5K/FUN RUN

    Run so they can fly! The Oklahoma City Zoo is proud to be hosting the first-ever Monarch Madness 5k and one-mile Fun Run, on Saturday, September 23, a new fundraising run benefiting local monarch butterfly conservation. The 5K will begin at 8 a.m., with check-in beginning at 6 a.m. The officially timed course simulates the 4,000k migration monarchs make from Canada to Mexico for the winter with themed water stops along the trail. All participants will receive a tech t-shirt, timed bib number, a finisher medal and FREE general admission into the Zoo. Registration is $35 for adults and $25 for kids.   • OKC ZOO MONARCH FESTIVAL

    Butteryfly Garden

    Migrate to the OKC Zoo to celebrate and raise awareness for these iconic species at the Monarch Festival on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Zoo’s Butterfly Garden. Festival activities will include craft stations, butterfly tagging, and garden tours and are free with zoo admission.  The goal of the Monarch Festival is to educate Zoo guests about the decline in monarch populations and to inspire them help protect butterflies and all pollinators by learning how to attract them to public gardens, neighborhoods or their own backyard. Wear a butterfly costume or accessories and receive free admission to the 2 p.m. sea lion presentation on the day of the event. For more information, call (405) 425-0262.

    Drink beer, save animals! Visit the OKC Zoo on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 7 to 10 p.m. for ZOOfriends’ annual fundraiser, ZOObrew.  ZOObrew is a beer-tasting event featuring over 50 beers provided by local breweries, home brewers and distributors. During the event, patrons will sample a variety of refreshing beers and listen to some great music. For an additional cost, guest will be able to enjoy delicious food from Lancer Hospitality throughout the event. ZOObrew is limited to 1,000 guests, so purchase your tickets now! Tickets are $40 for ZOOfriends members and $50 for non-members. Designated driver tickets are $5. Attendees must be 21 or older with a valid ID. No children are allowed. A portion of the net proceeds go to support animal enrichment projects. Tickets can be purchased at the ZOOfriends membership office, at zoofriends.org, or by phone at (405) 425-0618.
