  • Great Backyard Bird Count

    Flock to the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden to help wild birds. The OKC Zoo is proud to host the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science project that invites people to count native birds and help create a real-time look at wild populations. Participation is easy to do, fun for families and individuals–all ages welcome. Join us on Saturday, February 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., both days, to assist with counting, identifying the native birds that make their home around the Zoo. Kids will enjoy an on-grounds bird scavenger safari. Visit our information tent in the Global Plaza to learn more about each day’s activities including bird watching tours.   • Blood Drive - Red Cross

    As a thank you, those who come to donate will receive two free vouchers to the Zoo.

    As a national network, the Red Cross helps ensure blood is available for patients whenever and wherever it is needed. The Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 blood donations every day for patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country and couldn’t fulfill its mission without partners like the Oklahoma City Zoo.

    • So You Want To Be a Zoo Keeper? Overnight: March 15th, 2019 7:00pm-9:00am

    • Cost: $35/Scout, $20/Adult. Evening snack and light breakfast will be provided, and zoo admission included.

    • Age limit: 4 & up and all children attending an overnight must be accompanied by a responsible adult (although one adult may accompany more than one child).

    • Siblings can attend but must be registered as a scout.
